La serie nata su Game Boy Color nel 2002 dalla mente di Matt Bozon, ha infatti raggiunto le 3 milioni di unità vendute in tutto il mondo, considerando anche l’ultima entry della serie, Shantae and the Seven Sirens.
A farlo sapere è lo stesso Matt Bozon tramite un’intervista con Comicbook, affermando l’enorme crescita del franchise e l’enorme affetto che i fan di Shantae hanno dimostrato nei suoi 25 anni di vita, tra commenti, apprezzamenti, streaming e naturalmente fanart della geniessa dai capelli violacei.
Yes. Shantae fans are awesome. They have this increasing demand that keeps us constantly moving. Honestly, we’ve been so busy that we sometimes forget that she’s having these milestone moments. For example, last year marked 25 years since we created Shantae! And somewhere along the line she broke 3 million copies sold, but, now that I think about it, we didn’t celebrate when it reached 1 million. I guess this…right now…we can celebrate with a TOOT! If fans keep commenting, streaming, posting fanart, Shantae will keep growing and we’ll never get a chance to slow down. And that would be amazing!
