Nostalgia-Inducing Roguelite Adventure ‘Sparklite’ Reveals New Teaser Trailer and Screens

Sparklite – Teaser Trailer
Monday August 27, 2018, Manchester, UK – Merge Games is delighted to announce its partnership with North Carolina-based, Red Blue Games, to publish Sparklite, a roguelite brawler-adventure, on Nintendo Switch.

Players assume the role of Ada, a genius engineer, lost in a strange new land thrown into turmoil by gremlins. Ada must help save the world by stopping the invaders from extracting the last of its life-blood, the magical Sparklite.

But nature is fighting back too! Violent earthquakes, known as disruptions, periodically shake up the terrain, causing new arrangements and layouts within the world. After each disruption come new quests, minigames, and challenges for Ada to overcome as she builds up her strength to defeat the mysterious “Baron”.

Sparklite is a roguelite brawler-adventure set in a whimsical world where players invent guns and gadgets to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Sparklite is an “approachable roguelike”, borrowing the procedural content and randomness from roguelikes like Rogue Legacy and combining it with the appeal of classic adventure games titles like Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Sparklite is set for a fall 2019 release and will be available on Nintendo Switch.

About Red Blue Games
Red Blue Games is an indie studio based out of Durham, NC. Founded in 2013 by twins, Edward and Lucas Rowe and later joined by friend, Kevin Mabie. Growing up as twin brothers, co-founders Edward and Lucas began making games to share with one another. From Mario levels drawn on spools of printer paper to Lego-based RPGs, their many experiments instilled a love of game making from an early age. Similarly, Kevin developed his passion for game making when he was young, drawing alternative Zelda screens when bored in school, and replaying the tune of his favorite game tracks on his toy piano at home. Together, they’ve now turned their passion for game creation into Red Blue Games, where they make game experiences to share with the world. More information about Red Blue Games can be found at redbluegames.com.
