Exit the Gungeon (XTG) – The Hello to Arms Update is Now Live!

Edit 2020-11-19: We released another small patch on Steam and GOG today with bug fixes, see full notes at the bottom of this post!

Hey there Gungeoneers,

As some of you may know, we have been hard at work on a major update to Exit the Gungeon focused on improving options for player choice, and to make the gun-switching system more enjoyable. Today we are excited to announce that this update, called “Hello to Arms,” is now available (or will be shortly as store pages update). This is an update for Steam, GOG, Switch and Apple Arcade, and will be the first release on PS4 and Xbox One.

For a list of new features and patch notes, please see the full details below. Thank you to all of the brave Gungeoneers who beta-tested the update and submitted bugs and feedback! We are sure there will be more tweaks and bugs to fix, so please submit bugs and suggestions to https://support.exitthegungeon.com

Cheers

2.1.0 Patch Notes

Arsenal Mode: a new toggleable game mode in which weapons will be available as loot as well as for purchase in shops. Any number of these weapons can be held in addition to the Blessed gun, and can be used at any time. These additional carried guns have limited ammunition, which can be replenished by finding ammo pickups (exclusively in Arsenal Mode). This mode was designed to be more reminiscent of Enter the Gungeon’s gun management.

Shop Hubs: Bello’s shop has been expanded and now can be accessed twice per floor, allowing players more choice over when and how to spend their currency. This shop replaces the normal mid-floor room, in addition to its normal appearance after the boss. The shop has several doors to optional combat and NPC rooms that can be explored for loot or skipped. This should result in an overall increase in itemization for players who explore all rooms, as well as providing a source for weapon drops when playing in Arsenal Mode.
