Game System

In Lapis x Labyritnh, you fight with the heads of party members stacked on top of the leader character.

In addition to the specialized “Assist Order” and “Extra Order” actions that utilize the stacked heads, the leader also has “basic attacks” and “job actions.” By consecutively unleashing basic attacks, you can attack up to five times in a row, and you can change the attack pattern of job actions by pressing a different key on the d-pad. Utilize various techniques and make your way through the game using properly timed and precise attacks.

—The maid can be bewitch enemies with various consecutive attacks.

Head Breakaway

If you are attacked by an enemy, the impact may breakaway a head from your DANGO stack.

A breakaway head cannot take any action, and will be damaged if left as is.

While the battle continues without pause, be sure to keep an eye on the state of your party.

—A breakaway head can be picked back up by passing by it. If you move on to the next stage without picking up a breakaway head, you will not be able to use it in battle, so make sure you pick it up.

Head Stepping Stones

While the jump action generally only goes as far as a double jump, if you jump from standing atop a head, you can use your party’s heads as stepping stones to jump and reach higher places.

—You can jump as high as the heads you piled up. If there is a treasure chest you cannot reach, set down a head and use it as a scaffold to jump higher. The heads you use as scaffolds will return to your DANGO.

Equipment and Cost

There are five types of items you can equip to your party: weapons, armor, artifacts, magic gems, and snacks. The abilities of each equipment bestow effects upon specific jobs and the party in general. Equipped items have a “cost,” and there is a limit to how much cost you can equip. Prepare your equipment while figuring out a proper balance.

Snacks

Snacks are essentially recovery items. You can use one for every section you clear. They can recover HP and cure status ailments.

—It is “Snack Time” after clearing the first section of your adventure. The “Small Candy” snack recovers your HP, allowing you to proceed with full health.

Opening Gates

Lapis x Labyrinth

At the start of a stage, the gate that is the goal of the dungeon is locked.

In order to unlock it, you must destroy the violet diamond-shaped objects within the dungeon.

Several of these diamond-shaped objects exist, and each one you destroy fills up a dedicated gauge.

Be sure to check whether any remain in the dungeon before you reach the goal.

—If you fill up the gauge up until the mark in the middle, the gate will unlock, but if you fill up the gauge all the way through, the number of keys that can be used for “Treasure Unlocks,” which you can get after clearing the stage, will increase.
